Title: Station Search
Post by: grahame on December 16, 2014, 06:28:28
From the colouring books we gave out on the "Santa Special"s on the TransWilts on Sunday ... a word search

The question was "Find all these stations hidden in the puzzle, reading up, down, left, right or diagonally. The unused letters will reveal a station where you may change trains." but I'm going to make it a little bit more difficult here by not - yet - telling you the names of the stations that are hidden.   Can you tell me where you might change trains?

Whilst I haven't seen the word search. I shan't answer yet as I could be seen as having insider intelligence ;) :o

However I will call out York. Merely because I think it's either an oddball or just an unintended coincidence ;D

Whilst there might be a bias towards Wessex, there are many stations you can travel to from our part of Great Britain, and some of them appear in the puzzle - including York, which is intentional.

Quite a few places there, but not their actual station names. Think I've found all of them though and identified the interchange station from some of the remaining letters.

You're correct on that - perhaps "Places you can go by train" would have been strictly accurate!

Test, I suppose, is ask the conductor / ticket office clerk for a "ticket to xxxxx" and will they know where you want to go, even if they then have to ask a follow up question.

Is "WSB" accidental or for those in the know? Possibly a foolish question...

The three letter acronym appears accidentally in the quiz ... as (I suspect) do a whole lot of other three letter codes

I spent a while wondering how 'GARVEY' was rail related.  ;)
