I am now wondering whether I should set myself yet another target, of moving and merging some various previous posts into a definitive 'barbeque' topic - perhaps 'on the lighter side', here on the Coffee Shop forum?

As opposed to me who uses electricity to make food look like charcoal.

I would imagine last night's match in New York may have had more than a little influence on crew availability today......football matches where beer is involved have previously been cited by those in the know as a contributory factor!

That's not to say of course that said match, given the late kick off was not preceded by food prepared outdoors over charcoal on a type of grill?

A minority of outdoor grills use LPG or even electricity to produce a similar result to charcoal.

Why is Sunday running not included in these services? Demand to travel between major tourist centres (Oxford, Bath and Bristol) is likely to be at least as high on a Sunday as any other day.
It wasn't in the Section 22A application to the (ORR) either for the 2-hourly service from tomorrow, or the hourly service from next May.
The two most likely reasons:
1)  Availability of paths on a Sunday due to engineering works.
2)  Availability of staff on a Sunday due to historic reasons.
Agreed it would be nice, and appropriate, to provide a Sunday service as well.  Perhaps when Sunday's are in the working week?
"When" doing the heavy lifting there! 

'When' the civil servants at GBR actually grapple / deal with that issue. While they are working on an occasional Sunday, perhaps?

By the way:
2) Availability of staff on a Sunday due to historic reasons.

I feel that new orders for diesel-only trains should be banned immediately, along with bi-modes capable of over 110mph. However ...



A very interesting discussion as a small group of us chewed over a barbie yesterday 

Not very environmentally friendly 

A charcoal barbeque is fairly environmentally friendly IF the charcoal is produced locally from either a sustainably managed woodland, or from trees that needed to be cut down in any case. NOT imported from china !
And if the meat or alternatives was also locally produced.
LPG barbecues are not green, but with sensible use are not much worse than a gas cooker in ones kitchen.
An electric barbecue is as green as the electricity used.
In the rare case of an air conditioned home, ANY outdoor cooking is greener than cooking indoors and use of air conditioning to remove the heat produced.
