Would this thread be better off joined to the existing discussion of the plans here:

“London to the west” seems a more appropriate forum than this anyway...

I agree with joining the thread mentioned.... and include the “Decision on Dawlish Wall....” thread as well. Brings everything together for Phase 1.
Thank you to Admins for establishing the separate threads for the two Phases.

First sections of the new sea wall have been erected. They are quite tall. You can see them on this webcam here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sKQJEL-xjjc&feature=youtu.be

I thought they have completed the uprights or nearly have. The curved cap is still to be fitted and infilling between old and new wall.

Hey - who was thinking they would have liked to go to Devon this Easter? You can sit and watch this and imagine you've booked a room at a sea-front guest house in Dawlish!

Yes, correct. I meant to say the top sections are now being fitted. Here is a view looking towards the wall on 10 March 2020: https://youtu.be/lpFloyGzN1o

The upper section seems to be progressing quite well: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sKQJEL-xjjc&feature=youtu.be

The upper section seems to be progressing quite well
Is that upper section going to stretch all the way along that part of the seawall (ie, between Dawlish Station and Kennaway Tunnel)?

There is a further camera view looking towards the new wall from the opposite direction. Watching it at high tide the new wall section seems to be doing its job: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=R1tU6ps_bSk

Looks to be working well, though they'll never get it finished if work stops when waves are only gently lapping at it like that.

Multiple threads running on these works at / around Dawlish. To help reduce fragmentation of discussion, may I please direct followups to http://www.passenger.chat/22771 .
