Also, any reference to 'Bridgewater' in Somerset is as much of a 'red rag to a bull' to JayMac as is any reference to 'Nailsea and Blackwell' to me - and that includes Michael Portillo, who made that error.

Context information, for the benefit of our members and readers: JayMac and I do know each other personally - hence our friendly banter here in 'The Lighter Side'.

Yes, it does - but please don't encourage him.

Finn is rather more laid back about it all:

Does Edgware Road count?

... (cough) ... It's Bridgwater, not Bridgewater - please don't set JayMac off on one.

Just the other day on Facebook...

It's also Obridge, not Orbridge.

Bridgewater is the one in Manchester.

3 Orbridge, Taunton
Bridge 35 on the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal
Apologies, corrected!

3. Taunton? Bridge over the Bridgewater & Taunton Canal.
Dave
Yes, you're right - a traditional quiz always includes certain places. And a couple of extras on that basis (I was in a rush posting last night ... due to collect a takeaway)Dave
9. Melksham - Not that difficult

I have a feeling that No 8 is a view of the good side of CyclingSid.
That might provide a nudge to others as to where it is.

Going off at something of a tangent, I drove many different Mercedes Sprinter vans in my previous employment, and I found that they didn't generally 'sprint'.

They were, however, rather good at driving through flood water.

10. Mercedes Sprinters.

I can find Mercedes Peris, the Spanish backstroke swimmer who competed in the 2008 Olympics, but no sprinters of that name.

1. Starcross - JayMac
2. Cardiff Bay - bradshaw
4. Poland (yes, but where in Poland) - Chris from Nailsea
6. Plockton - stuving
Sorry - guesses at 3 and 7 have suggested different locations to where the picture was actually taken, so those remain open for identification. And, no, I can't identify the tree species either.

I can’t identify any of the species.

6: Plockton. I'd recognise that well-known box anywhere.

I was gonna go for 2, but the sign is a bit too helpful.
1. Starcross.

Ooops ... and yes.
Chris is correct that 8 is not the strawberry line. 7 is not the river Frome.

I discounted 8 as being The Strawberry Line (local to me) because it isn't - but I do offer a bid for 7. Bridge over the River Frome at Stoborough, Dorset.
