I understood that you put tickets in for refund as a trip not taken, with a written explanation of the abandonment.

It's fine if your train is late, you claim delay repay.
It's also fine if you cancel your journey you claim a refund albeit with bits taken off depending on conditions of the ticket.
Last Saturday I got caught up with a tree across the track on the Par - Newquay line and the inevitable prolonged journey, which effectively negated the purpose of the trip. So I abandoned the journey. There is no guidance anywhere (that I can find) as to what to do in this case. Even staff are confused several suggesting that Refund is the correct route which failed because the ticket had been used. Eventually Delay Repay claiming a delay of 120+ minutes was the only way, despite factually being incorrect.
We need an abandoned journey process to be added to those already in place.
Thoughts?
