Travelled 0801 from Penryn to truro this morning and I must say I have never come across such a happy cheerful guard so early in the morning. His cheerful happiness definitely brightened up my morning. If it was any of the staff members off here thank you for such a cheery start to my Friday morning!

William Huskisson MP▸ was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830. Many more have died in the same way since then. Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

I wouldn't know, or maybe just the fact the schools finished yesterday down here so he'd had no annoying little kids to deal with.

Lots of nice staff on the Cornwall DMUs▸ - there's a Lady Conductor who I see on the St Ives branch - we discuss birdwatching and she's always alerting passengers to anything interesting in the bay. In the 90's a Conductor told us of a lady sunbathing naked in a house next to Carbis Bay station - we looked and looked but never saw her........... Long long ago a Conductor who told everyone that they possessed a railcard.

I know the one you mean, she's a star amongst the staff as well as the passengers.

There used to be a good conducter on the 08:00 Cardiff - Paignton service when it was loco hauled who I always chatted to when ever we saw each other on the train.
