Hi!
Having only just sorted out pland for the Christmas period, I have just spent some time trying to work out the cheapest way to travel, but I am a little confused, and would appreciate some advice.

I would need to travel from Hereford to Basingstoke on 27/12, not early in the day, after 9ish.
I also need to travel from Basingstoke to Cheltenham on 31/12, late afternoon, and then back again to Basingstoke on 02/01, anytime in the afternoon.
I will have a Network Railcard by then (as my Y-P expires on 18/12, and I am no longer under 26 nor studying full-time Sad)
Journey time is not too important, but I would prefer not to travel by replacement coach, if at all possible.

I know that there are some easements with tickets due to engineering works, in a couple of places along the various routes, and that splitting at Didcot (esp. with Network Railcard) could be cheaper.
I've tried a few different combinations, and I think I've just confused myself!

Thanks in advance for any help/advice,
bobg

cheapest i got going by the book and without looking at advance singles as not sure what time you want to go ... is 76.50 for all 3 trips which would be a super off peak open return from hereford to basingstoke at 57 pounds which is also valid via Cheltenham so use that for the first two trips (break in journey),and then a super off peak single from cheltenham to basingstoke for 19.50 ... these do not not include any railcard discounts.... if you have set times you want to travel and dont mind losing flexibility then you can get the price down
