Suffice to say I have had better months commuting but on my journey home (1618 reigate to reading) came across the most helpful TM‡ I have met in years of travelling by train.
When she checked my weekly ticket she noticed it was the last day of validity and without prompting offered to renew it. It may seem trivial but in my opinion its things like this that make a difference
I don't know if her name is on the receipt bit and email to customer services will follow (I wouldnt post her name here to save her blushes)
All may not be as it seems! Last day of validity and after midday on a weekly season ticket is an ideal commission earner for guards! I do it myself if I have the time! Saves time for the passenger and is a nice bit of kerching for the guard.
RPIs▸ and the like do not get commission so are a lot less likely to offer.
