BRITISH TRANSPORT POLICE APPEAL FOR WITNESSES TO INCIDENT ON TRAIN - DEVON
Plymouth-based British Transport Police (BTP▸ ) officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed an altercation on board a train in Devon to come forward and assist the investigation.
PC Mike Phillips said a disturbance took place on First Great Western^s 1556hrs Exeter St Davids to Paignton service on Monday 14 November 2011.
^The altercation happened at around 4.30pm after the train had departed Newton Abbot station and was heading towards Torre,^ PC Phillips said.
^Two people intervened in a dispute between passengers and were assaulted. Police were called and a 43-year-old man was subsequently arrested and released on bail until 4 January 2012 pending further enquiries.
^I would now like to hear from anyone who was on the train who witnessed what occurred. If you saw what happened and have any information which you think could be of interest to police, then I would ask you to please get in touch as soon as possible.^
