APPEAL AFTER MEMBER OF STATION STAFF ABUSED - NEATH
British Transport Police (BTP▸ ) is appealing for the public^s help in identifying a man they would like to speak to after a member of staff at Neath rail station was abused.
Officers have released a CCTV▸ image of a person they believe may have information about the incident, which happened on Thursday, 8 September 2011.
Investigating officer PC Ian Price, who is based at BTP Swansea, said: ^A man entered Neath station at around 10.10am and bought a child^s ticket from the automated ticket machine. Noticing that he appeared to look older, a member of ticket revenue staff stopped the man and asked his age. When challenged, he became abusive and insulting to the female staff member and tried to put his finger up her nose.^
PC Price added: ^We have identified a man we would like to speak to in connection with this incident. He is described as white, in his late teens, around 5ft 9in and was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a hooded top with white stripes on the arms. The man stated he was travelling to Port Talbot but left the station after being challenged.
^This was a frightening and intimidating experience for the victim, who was left shocked and distressed. We would like to appeal to the public to come forward with any information they may have in relation to this incident, and particularly anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image.^
