Can anyone with access to a rail system which works out rail miles, calculate the following for me please:

What is the price per mile for these two tickets:

CDR (Off Peak Day Return [ticket type] (formerly 'Cheap Day')) TIV to EXD» (Exeter St Davids - next trains) @ ^4.80

SDS SAL to FNB @ ^18.70

The reason I ask is because the latter seems so expensive and the former seems ridiculously cheap lol!!

Thanks

CDR (Off Peak Day Return [ticket type] (formerly 'Cheap Day')) Tiverton to Exeter St David's is approx 30 1/2 miles (return) so at ^4.80 is 15.73p per mile

SDS Salisbury to Farnborough Main is 49milles 37chain and at ^18.70 is 37.8p per mile.

But it's not a straight forward as Singles are more per mile than Day Returns.

Thanks Smokey.

I find it interesting that SWT (South West Trains) don't offer a CDS (Off Peak Day Single [ticket type] (formerly 'Cheap Day')) for SAL to FNB

[Reason I ask these questions is they were add-ons to my recent FOSS (Freedom of Severn & Solent rover ticket) rover which I did Thurs-Sat last week.]

Perhaps I paid more per mile for SAL to FNB because Ollie was travelling with me  Wink
