Just listening tony livery show on radio 5 and after the slug shutting down the Doncaster traffic lights today they are asking whatbtransport have you shut down

Allegedly a woman lost a shoe under a hst at pad (I'm using abbreviations as lazy - it's the gist not the transcript) hobbled the length of jthe train to find the guard who then retrieved said shoe.

Whilst doing so in the fifteeen minute delay it was announced the train was delayed due to a shoe on the line.

Frankly I think most of these late night callers are deranged and seeking attention but I find her story very very very hard to believe.

Incur delay minutes for someones shoe? Even if it were jimmy choos or Louis vuittons it would cost more even if they were liable to replace them!

If I lost my shoe under a train that was static I'd more embarrassed and mjor want to get attention

TOCs^▸ (Train Operating Company) will retrieve property dropped from the platfirm but in my experience (once) and several observations, they insist on waiting for vacant platfirm & occasionally called the signaller first.

Small items can usually be retrieved with a litter grabber. I've seen this done when someone dropped a set of keys onto the track on Platform 3 at Temple Meads.

That then doesn't need someone with PTS^▸ (Personal Track Safety) or putting a temporary block on that line.

Actually when using the grabber, permission should be sought from the signaler

The train I was driving today, got delayed slightly by a frozen casserole. The old lady in question had left it in the buffet on the station. When the platform staff went to look for it, it had gone. Spooky, but true. 2 minute delay. I can't wait for the 'please explain'.
