A few things can be done ...

1 - Complete Platform 1.
2 - Add another deck, or two, to the car park.
3 - Extend station interior into part of the first two floors of the car park.
4 - Remove the local peak/off peak hours that distort passenger numbers, they are meaningless.
5 - Consider extending the station area beyond platform 1, possibly consider a bus interchange there.

However, with all the money being spent in Reading (deservedly) and other stations I doubt any funding will exist for a while.

Bristol Parkway is in a Network Rail list of most overcrowded stations.  It's one of three stations outside the South East and London listed (Liverpool Lime Street and Preston are the other two.)

They see the solution as more online ticket sales and information opposed to station expansions,  larger ticket offices or more TVMs (Ticket Vending Machine).

More online ticket sales = more queues at TVMs (Ticket Vending Machine) to pick up said tickets + more queues at ticket barriers to get through.

Has a "barcode" ticket EVER worked? Perhaps it does for phone tickets, but the print at home ones are a waste of time.

Bristol Parkway wasn't crowded last time I was there, Car Park less than 1/2 full and NOBODY at all on the Platforms, mind it was Stupid o'Clock and I was on the up Sleeper Grin
