Going from Swindon to Taunton (and back) in October.  So I know when I've found it, can someone with a fare manual confirm what the cheapest possible First Class advance single is please?

As an aside I doubt there are any splits available but if anyone knows of any....

Many thanks

Fares Manual is only valid to early September, therefore October fares may be higher than current, or may stay same! For advance fares the only simple method is to await your travel date coming up as we get nearer October. Ought to be available 12 weeks before but don't hold your breath.

Booking horizon for FGW (First Great Western) is currently 19th October.

Potential cheapest 1st Class Advance is ^16. But bear in mind that most of these Advances will require a change at Bristol and then onward in a Standard Class only all shacks FGW service. There are only a handful of through HSTs (High Speed Train) between Swindon and Taunton. There are no advance fares on this route that will allow use of both FGW and CrossCountry services.

More information on the date(s) of travel and specific times will be needed to provide accurate information.

True. But new fares for travel dates after the introduction of a new Fares Manual are not uploaded until 4 weeks prior to the start of that new Manual.

Thanks - that ^16 was the detail I was looking for. Travelling out on 28th back on the 29th. There are some through trains at the sort of times I want to travel (barring engineering work).  Just have to see if the ^16 is available on them when they are released.

Keep an eye on the booking horizon for FGW (First Great Western) Advance tickets. This date can be found toward the bottom left of the FGW website homepage.

It is possible that the ^16 fare may increase before you have a chance to book it though. By the time tickets are released for 28/29th October we may well be inside four weeks before the Fares Change Date of 4th September. After 7th August any changes to fares (introduced, withdrawn, increased, decreased(!), changed restrictions) for travel dates beyond 4th September become live.

Fingers crossed FGW have no plans to increase unregulated fares in this round.
