A Sussex passenger train was stopped for nearly an hour after a man climbed on top of the carriage.

The service from Haywards Heath to Littlehampton was halted near Durrington station in West Sussex at about 14:25 BST on Wednesday.

British Transport Police (BTP▸ (British Transport Police)) said a 39-year-old man was removed from the top of the train and taken to Worth Hospital for medical assessment.

Services on the line resumed at about 15:30 BST.

A British Transport Police spokesman added: "The incident was reported at 2.24pm and BTP attended alongside officers from Sussex Police and paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service. Trains were stopped whilst the 39-year-old man from Worthing was removed from the top of the train. He has been taken to Worthing Hospital for a medical assessment."

Oh, and not proof read.

They report the man being taken to Worth Hospital for a medical assessment then quote a BTP▸ (British Transport Police) spokesman saying very nearly the same.....
