Not Transferable

Car Parking question ... does "not transferable" to APCOA^▸ mean ... not transferrable between car, driver, space or visit?

Last Sunday, I parked at Westbury station from 07:10 until 09:30, and again from 19:10 to 22:00. At my initial visit, I bought a ticket that was valid until 23:59. It so happened on my second visit I had my wife's car with me, but I happened to park in the same space. On both occasions, I was the only (human) passenger in the car, although I had the dog with me on the second trip.

If in doubt, I tend to err on the side of safety; I could see no definition on the ticket as to what "not transferrable" actually meant ... but could / should I have simply redisplayed the ticket from the morning ...

Hmmm - legally, i.er. if you had been observed on both occasions - I suspect it's between vehicles. Your are paying to park a vehicle. So, replace a different vehicle in the same space & you would be expected to pay. RingGo & Connect register your numberplate, so change the vehicle & I suspect you'd get a rude note....

Hmm.

I'd tend to agree with ChrisB - I think they mean the purchase of a ticket is for a particular vehicle (hence local authority ticket machines often ask for the index number of the vehicle, which is then printed on the ticket, for example).

However: I am not a lawyer, and the civil law on private parking has been shown to be an absolute minefield: it's probably best to play safe and buy a new ticket for the second visit!
