I see ATW▸ and FGW▸ are putting on extra services tonigt for the Take That concert goers in cardiff!
Services from Bristol were very busy today, from personal experience the 12.21 had over 200 people on platform 5 waiting for it!
I do hope there is a little "patience" at Cardiff tonight waiting to board a train home and the concert goers "never forget" their experience with FGW!
On a serious note, what are FGW obliged to do to get people home tonight? Is their anything in their franchise that committs them to run extra trains for events like this and the upcoming Glastonbury festival?

cardiff isn't a fgw station is it?
No, it isn't. As far as the border between FGW▸ and ATW▸ stations is concerned, I would have thought Gloucester and/or the Severn Tunnel is where "everything changes".

I don't think it really matters who runs the station. As long as all the concert goers came back for good is all that is important.

Well I'm sure for many fans this could be their Grestest Day, if FGW▸ are doing something and posted it on their website then It Only Takes a Minute for people to check. Just to be Sure, they could always Pray. *groan*

Let us hope that if some decide to abandon FGW▸ and go solo to the Millenium stadium, they will have NO Regrets. It would be a Shame if they missed the concert.

If 64,000 people turn up for the 23:27 Cardiff to Bristol, think FGW are indeed obliged to do something about it.

I was on a HST▸ (crammed into a lugguage rack) that departed CDF» apx 23:55 and arrived BTM▸ 00:55, running via Parkway and calling at all stations bar Pilning.

I was reading an article today stating that 100 women were admitted to A&E at Manchester Royal Infirmary after attending their concerts in Manchester to treat injuries including broken wrists and alcohol poisoning. A steward at Eastlands said "Some women were slumped in their seats barely able to walk. It was way worse than a football match"!
(In fairness about half a million people watched the group over eight nights, so the injured were few).

Sounds like the car was the more sensible option last night then, no complaints of travel chaos from the parents last night - and they were back home by half 12!
