Rail tours in the UK▸ often take on special names, which can include slang at times!
Perhaps the most ironic example of this was the 'Bone Breaker' tour, promoted by Pathfinder, which ran several years ago. It was billed as a farewell to the
Class 58s which were known within the crank community as 'bones' due to their shape when viewed in planform.
Unfortunately for all concerned the train actually collided at low speed with the bufferstops at Walton-on-the-Naze which did result in at least one broken leg and some broken ribs. The train was terminated, bringing a fairly ignominious end to the passenger career of the class 58s (such as it ever was, since they were more or less exclusively freight locos and only hauled passenger trains
in extremis or on charter work).
