From a business point of view they need to look at the five minute free trial. A couple of weeks ago I saw someone watch a complete episode of Downton Abbey by switching back and forth between the screen in front of them and the one on the adjacent empty seat.   If the trial only showed a sample and didn't allow the user to fast forward to the point where the last trial ran out it would stop this.

I like the new lower price and the ability to buy other than via mobile.

Be a nice touch too if they could put a screen with the moving map in First Class like you get on aeroplanes.

I think the free trial resets at each station stop anyway....

... yep. System does reset after each station stop. Stay in the same seat and watch a whole half hour episode of something in 5 minute chunks! Provided your service as enough station stops on your journey of course. Or if you've got a bay of two to yourself you can get that down to 3x 10 minute chunks. Get your timing right and it could be no worse than watching something like Friends or The Simpsons on US TV with their ad breaks every few minutes.

Hmmm...  Not sure how they did it then. It was the 10:28 Reading to Paignton which makes a few stops but not that many. Wonder if it resets when a train passes through a station but doesn't call or is brought to a stand by signalling?

I think the free trial has gone.  Had a passenger a couple of days ago complaining they could not find it anymore.

I think it is gone. It no longer gives you the option on the splash screen, and if you select a movie or video it directs you to the "buy a code" page. They've gone from one extreme to the other - perhaps they should do as someone suggested and show a sample rather than letting you fast forward.

The upside is that the maps are available again (if I remember correctly).

Since I'm in Cornwall there are stops every half a second anyway; and I was one of those who flipped between seats to watch a full episode (but only because I wasn't paying ^whatever for an hour journey from Plymouth; I did pay when coming from Reading).
