Hex/Connect Industrial Action 27th & 28th May

Just to give prior warning to those of you who use the Heathrow Connect service, that due to industrial action taking place on the 27th and 28th May there will be no Heathrow Connect services operating and the Express service will only operate half hourly between 0800 and 2000 both days.

It remains to be seen whether FGW^▸ (First Great Western) services will stop additionally at Hanwell and West Ealing.

Might be pretty pointless industrial action if this latest volcanic erruption in Iceland closes air space over the UK^▸ (United Kingdom) again.

The lack of useful info regarding Hanwell for example, on both FGW^▸ (First Great Western) & HConn websites is pretty bad. Next to nothing.

I've a feeling the Airport Junction problem on the Up Main is an endemic one. The ARS^▸ (Automatic Route Setting) in the IECC^▸ (Integrated Electronic Control Centre) doesn't seem to pick up a train on the Up Main far enough back down the line for the computer to crank up see if there's a Heathrow about and then decide it should perhaps clear the the Up Main and let it run. Hence the double yellow at West Drayton.

From Rushcombe to West Drayton the train has been under Slough (Old) and they let the signals run auto, if there are no crossing moves to fit in.

Any re-signaling would help if it moved the control boundary further West, the current one is the old Old Oak Common / Slough boundary, although there will always be the rules on conflicting movements and train headway (I'm not an S & T engineer and I am sure its more complex than tis)

From good source, as I understand it the ARS^▸ (Automatic Route Setting) picks up a train on the Up main at Langley which is around 3 mies from the infamous permanent double yellow at West Drayton that gives it 90 seconds for it to respond and set the route. Don't forget the signal at West Drayton has to be green otherwise an HST^▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) will be slowed by the ATP^▸ (Automatic Train Protection) until the next signal releases the ATP. Not sure if signal has fixed ATP or a wire in front. A Turbo driver of course is not locked down so start to acerate as soon as they see the next signal if it's showing green.
