http://www.virtualfestivals.com/latest/news/10176/-/Glastonbury-2011-launches-Express-train-serviceGlastonbury 2011 ticket holders in London are being offered a new private train and shuttle bus service to take them to the festival site. The Glastonbury Express will run from London Euston to Cranmore Station, where a shuttle bus will take fans on to the campsite. Priced @ ^70 return, through RailEasy. https://glastonbury.raileasy.co.uk/Although - reading the RailEasy site, it states that it is in conjunction with First Rail Support - so I'm wondering if this is an FGW▸ idea to take the pressure off Paddington and the HSTs▸ ? Where's Cranmore though?

Cranmore is the main station on the East Somerset Railway.

Given that the rail journey to Cranmore involves travelling over the Witham-Merehead quarry branch (which is freight-only and to the best of my knowledge only veyr rarely visited by passenger trains) I reckon there's a serious danger that track bashers could outnumber Glasto customers on that train!

Between ^3.00 and ^4.06 to be added for fees. Given that the rail journey to Cranmore involves travelling over the Witham-Merehead quarry branch (which is freight-only and to the best of my knowledge only veyr rarely visited by passenger trains) I reckon there's a serious danger that track bashers could outnumber Glasto customers on that train!
I've checked the T&Cs and nothing there to say only valid with a Glasto ticket, so could well attract a few rail enthusiasts.

Not every crank plans a bash as a day trip!
I'm struggling myself to plan for a mid summer trip to the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch, so may be looking at an overnight stay.

Maybe there's a working payphone in here..... http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/35392676.jpg...if not, then there's this one (pic courtesy of Google Street View), The Leaning Phonebox of Cranmore, just outside the entrance to the ESR▸ at Cranmore....
