Likewise, a few particularly busy south coast XC^▸ services used the Reading avoider on Saturdays - apparently this often led to arguments with people who assumed the missing Reading announcements were accidental, but it was as per the published timetable.

I expect the current XC services that skip Parkway and Winchester in the afternoon result in a reasonable number of overcarried passengers who weren't too bothered about what the PIS^▸ displays and announcements were clearly telling them...

I like your thinking Jim and I wish it would happen! Also, I must add they must have hourly services from Oxford to Banbury calling at all stations to and fro Oxford. This includes Tackley, Heyford & Kings Sutton. Our service is so bad.
