A protest at Bristol Temple Meads to demand a halt to proposed rail fare increases over the next four years only attracted four activists.
Craftivists, who protest using scissors, thread and fabric to make their point, gathered outside the station yesterday against fares rising by 31 per cent over four-years.
However, the group failed to attract the hundreds of supporters it had hoped for - in fact, only four people turned up.
Together they urged rail users to join their picnic and make fabric train carriages conveying statistics, facts, quotes and consumer views.
The train panels will be collated into a petition train and be delivered by action group Climate Rush, to Minister for Transport, Philip Hammond, on April 16. Event organiser Michaela Adams, 20, said: "Philip Hammond MP▸ wants to hike fares a massive 31 per cent over the term of this Government.
"We're here to demand fair fares and a sustainable alternative. These unfair fare increases will stop people using trains when we need help keeping our carbon footprints down."
