I mean how hard is it? 

On a SW train from Reading to Bracknell. At Earley it said we were at West Byfleet. At Winnersh Triangle we were at Byfleet and New Haw. By Winnersh we had reached Weybridge and Wokingham had been transformed to Walton on Thames.

Ok so someone put the wrong code in but surely after one or two stations someone should have noticed and over ridden it. It's no good having announcements for the partially sited if they are just plain wrong.

Do SWT▸ (South West Trains) have a higher proportion of stations with names starting with "W" than anyone else?   It's struck me before, and your post reminded me ... sorry if it turns it a little bit into "lighter side" material ...

In all seriousness, many public transport operators seem to have trouble with their information systems.   One of the buses used around here on route 272 was giving false information for weeks.  If faulty, it would have been far better just to switch it off!

I did mention it to the guard at Bracknell (which was Hersham by the way) and he said he had spoken to the driver but nothing had happened.

...and possibly the most 'W's together in earlier days.
 
Walton on Thames, Weybridge, West Weybridge[1], West Byfleet, Woking, Worplesdon.

[1]  Renamed Byfleet and New Haw from 1961 - bit of an own goal IMHO▸ ('in my humble opinion')...

That's a memory jogger, and am open to correction on this, but wasn't there a club that formed on SWT▸ (South West Trains) services out of Waterloo that had a Whisky at every 'W' station they passed through on their way home.

Can't remember where I saw it now, it may even have a thread on here somewhere.

Now valid HTML▸ (Hypertext Markup Language) 4.01 Transitional, although not quite XHTML!  Table produced in Notepad, which gives much better results than Microsoft Word.

Crikey - Waterloo, Wimbledon, then a bit of a wait for the 5 together I mentioned earlier, then a short break before one for the road at Witley...  Could be expensive over the year...
