Reminds me of the posh boy who was evacuated to the countryside in 1939/40. His horrified Mother when visiting, heard him shout down the lane to the herd .'Come on you F*****s, get a move on! When his mother remonstrated with him, he replied . 'well, the farmer calls 'em effers, but I know what he means really.....  |

... and here's another story, from the Northern Echo: Rail delays near Darlington after pony hit by train
Rail services between Darlington and Bishop Auckland have been disrupted after a pony was struck by a train and killed. The incident happened on the stretch of rail line near Whessoe Road, in Darlington, shortly after 6pm (Sunday, January 6). Bus replacement services have been put in place for the next hour to allow the scene to be cleared. A police spokeswoman said no-one was hurt in the incident.
