It is - and there's an excellent cup of free, bean-to-cup coffee waiting for you next time you're passing our way and drop in to see us.  Run the dog in the ground, use the Internet for free (subject to our AUP  Wink ) and have a stimulating chat on a wide range of subjects with whoever's on duty (or a less that stimulating one on the one-track subject of rail if it's me!).

In all seriousness for everyone ... we're a business that's open for an extended day, 7 days a week, and if you're in the area, drop in and say "hi".  {link}. Probably best to drop me a p.m. / email to say "hey - I'm in the area and may drop in" ahead of time, just in case I'm out working on site and / or augmenting the picture gallery.

Supplimentary question - what did I mean about "backward" and "forward" in the title?

Because service was cut not increased?

Nope ... because there are two direct services each day from Swindon to Salisbury (both the 06:15 and 18:45 off Swindon carry on to Southmapton) but in the return direction there's a change at Westbury (06:04 from Salisbury, 28 minute wait at Westbury for the 07:02 and 18:21 from Salisbury, 21 minute wait at Westbury got the 19:32)

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity. Views expressed in posts are not necessarily the views of the operators of the forum.

As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
