I tend to use National rail and buy from Chiltern as the least worse TOC (Train Operating Company). They get 9%!

No problems so far with originally posted tickets usually arrived next day and now collecting from Taplow.

My favourite retailer is East Coast as I like the "Mixing Deck" interface - I find this very easy to use, although it could confuse others.

Although Southern and Southeastern have the same interface, I only use their website to buy discounted tickets on their own services.  Reason being they get difficult if tickets get lost and you didn't pay for recorded delivery.

Recently I've been buying through FTPE» (First TransPennine Express - website) and SWT (South West Trains) (both Trainline websites) as they are offering cashback on their tickets through cashback websites (like Top Cashback, imutual, Fatcheese, etc).  Martin Lewis has a good guide on how these types of websites work: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/cashback-websites

Out of curiosity, surely as a traveller on FGW (First Great Western), you would rather money was going into FGW's pocket for possible improvements than to another TOC  Huh

Not 9% commission any more. Try closer to 5%, thats why trainline started charging for everything as the charges cut into its commission.

I do not work for FGW (First Great Western) and posts should not be assumed and do not imply they are statements, unless explicitly stated that they are, from any TOC (Train Operating Company) including First Great Western.
