Whilst travelling on the 17:15 from Paddington to Swansea last night I was rather disturbed to see a large cockroach making its way along the side of the carriage.

Did anyone else see this?

How did it get there?

Any thoughts?

instead of making a massive scene about it and drawing tons of unwanted attention to myself i would have obtained a Metro from somewhere and used that to scoop him up, then either have thrown him out of the window if i was on a train that had windows that open or just gone to one of the toilets on the train and flushed him away on to the tracks.

Not so sure about FGW^▸ (First Great Western)'s fleet now they've been spruced up, but I dread to think what wildlife was inhabiting the two ATW^▸ (Arriva Trains Wales (former TOC^▸ (Train Operating Company))) 158s I found myself on over Christmas - they were not just internally very tatty (torn seat covers, wall coverings peeling off, 'blown' double glazing units) but objectively filthy, with ingrained dirt in the carpets, seats and walls that nobody has bothered to clean in a very, very long time.

By the way, it wasn't the same unit both times because, in true Arriva style, they were painted in completely different liveries!

To flee means to move quickly, unlikely on a 158 !
The correct term is flea busses.

I have seen the odd cockroach or other pest on trains, but do not believe the problem to be widespread.
I saw a mouse once, but again doubt that this is regular problem.
