At last FGW (First Great Western) have finally filled the two hour gap between the 9.08 and 11.08 ex Portsmouth services between Westbury and Bristol on Sunday mornings. An additional service will depart Westbury at 11.50 calling all stations to Bristol which should relieve a lot of pressure on the 9.08 and 11.08 on this part of the line. When these services have been short formed people have often been left behind at some stations so this is good news. Well done FGW!

Well, we had the full 3-coaches on the 0908 yesterday. However, it was full and standing from Westbury, and packed out from Trowbridge/Bradford-on-Avon through to Bath.

A combination of needing to get used to the new timetable plus the Christmas shopping effect will have contributed, of course.

Hmmmm you could be right there both in terms of being a new timetable and Christmas shopping. I wonder if some education is needed to the locals of Trowbridge and Bradford-on-Avon that finally they now have an extra Sunday service they can use rather than cramming in on the 9.08. Lets hope the 11.50 wasn't running too empty.
