I am completely 'stress-free' about 4, Jo: it isn't Taunton - not by a long way!

Oh, yes: in terms of distance, Jo, grahame's picture 4 is a live pylon mile from Taunton ...

Now "open season" ... 24 hours are up ... feel free to post answers and guesses for 2, 4 and 6. Although I called this a "classic" quiz, it struck me as unusual when I looked back that not one of the pictures features a First train ...

No 6 looks suspiciously like a Faresaver minibus to me... I may be classed as cheating here, but I remember you mentioning to me that Faresaver took over part of a key bus route near Melksham... Perhaps you went to see a family member near Calne...?? TT

Yes, number 4 is indeed at Yeovil Pen Mill And number 6 is indeed on a Faresaver bus ... actually the Chippenham to Melksham route; having arrived at Chippenham at about 13:10 (12:00 from Paddington), I wasn't about to hang around until 19:01 for the next TransWilts service, so I walked through Chippenham (the bus doesn't call at the station, of course!), waited for the 13:52 bus, and got back to Melksham at 14:20, noting wryly: a) There were 20 people on the bus, all but three of whom were through Chippenham to Melksham passengers and b) It had taken me as long to cover the finaly 6 miles to Melksham as I had taken to to the 94 miles from London No. 2, Anyone? Surely someone knows where "Railway Center" is

4: Yeovil Pen Mill (@BNM: ner-ner-ner-ne-ner-ner ) I've been out all day and come back to what I hope will be my one bit of pleasure on the forum in answering Number 4 - only to have it cruelly taken away from me. You are a cad and a bounder TJ!!!! Note to johoare: It was an anagram in CfN's post: Oh, yes: in terms of distance, Jo, grahame's picture 4 is a live pylon mile from Taunton ...

I think I should take stock. Radical hinting may be needed for number 2!
