William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

HST (High Speed Train) stopped at Truro and as soon as I heard 'jumper' I transfered to a bus  - the bus went past the incident at Redruth Station Viaduct - lots of police and Ambulance presence for a person on the first down arch - roads underneath also closed.

Buses very quickly organised - the relief bus beat the regular 18 service to St Erth.

Up the spout again today (29-10-2010) as well. 6C43 has apparently slipped to a total stop at Honslow on Largin Bank. 66015 going as 1Z99 from Burgullow to assist apparently.

a friend was waiting a Redruth station from 1725 when the train he was on from Truro came to a stop, until 2130 when a train arrived to collect them, there was no buses or taxis available according to him. he also said that several trains went through pz bound non stop. personally if i was him i would of walked outside the station and caught an 18 or 14 bus and got on that and then attempt to reclaim additional expenses, as the 18 stops outside every station en-route
