In which case, as a wild guess, somewhere around Portsmouth Harbour (where the track is definitely unballasted and elevated, from memory you can look straight down at the sea from the platform). But I really don't think it looks right for that.

A very wild guess, blakey, but you are (sort of) on the right coastline.....

OK then, with the benefit of (a) the realization that third rail and narrow gauge are not necessarily mutually exclusive, (b) a clue from you good self, and (c) me remembering that you went to Brighton on your travels, how about the Volk's Electric Railway? Although that has a few different stations and I really don't know which one of them it might be!

Well, number 3 was the deliberate difficult one seeing as it wasn't a picture of a particular station. But then I thought the night shot of a 158 (Number 13) would also prove difficult, at least for CfN!!

Well done blakey. The shot of the track on the Volk's Electric Railway was taken a few yards west of Aquarium station:

Incidentally, I couldn't travel on the world's oldest still operating electric railway on the day I was in Brighton as it was closed down until Easter 2011. Was, however, able to buy a '99' from Aquarium Station!

Correct answers. Well done to all who took part.
