Best Places to Split on ECML

Best Places to Split on ECML

I can't seem to find a website that does this for me, so I'm asking here.

Does anyone know where to split between Stevenage and Durham to get the best fare?

After you brought this journey up on another thread, I went looking for split fares. Couldn't find anything that would beat the ^90+ SSR.

The core of the East Coast Main Line (KGX-NCL/LEE) offers up no split fare savings unfortunately. So your only option for cheaper travel will be Advance Purchase. Book through East Coast to get 10% off Advances in both 1st and Std.

Are you actually making this journey or just flagging it up all over the place as an appalling cause celebre? Wink

Because if you are, and you're really hell bent on saving money but for some reason don't want an advance ticket, you might investigate Grand Central to York followed by a connection onward from there, although you'd have to double back from Stevenage to the Cross to start the journey.

I'll probs do Advance. Yes, I am making the journey (don't ask why I'll suddenly be in Stevenage and going to Durham!). Shame, because I may not be able to plan that far in advance.

Perhaps a lack of split fares is a good thing. Was kinda hoping some CDRs^▸ * for different legs might be cheaper than a SVR* for Super Off Peak.
