Thanks for posting this.  Just tried the number and it certainly works (just need to type the 4 digit NLC (National Location Code) into your phone keypad once the system has beeped at you).

I've just tried it as well!  Tongue

It doesn't have any details for Nailsea & Backwell (possibly as our information points aren't installed yet?), but I was able to discover that there are "no trains due in the next 99 minutes" at Melksham!

the 4 digit NLC (National Location Code)

Please can some one explain?   Would this be like 5521 Farnborough Main and 7248 Bristol Temple Meads or am I getting my codes confused?

The four digit National Location Codes are available at http://deaves47.users.btopenworld.com/CRS/CRS0.htm

Quote
NLCs (National Location Code) are used in an accounting context to identify individual assets, and were first used from 1 January 1968.  They are entirely separate to ELRs and PRIDE (Possession Resource Information Database) numbers (shown elsewhere on this site).  Additionally, these codes are also used by booking offices, albeit in a slightly truncated form.  Those locations which are stations generally have NLCs ending "00" (for example, Swindon is 333300).  Booking clerks drop the final two zeroes, and refer to Swindon as 3333.

So, Bristol Temple Meads is 3231 and Farnborough Main is 5521.

Hope this helps!

It wont work for stations that dont have a help point installed which plays these announcements.

So will only work for stations which either have help points with the yellow button, or still have the old wessex help points.

This being the reason why Nailsea and Backwell wont work, same for Bristol Temple Meads, etc

Basically they are replacing the old wessex help points, but the wessex help point have not been removed yet.

I've just tried it for Thornford and she informed me that the 18:06 to Bristol Temple Meads is delayed by approximately 60 minutes due to industrial action!

Spotted it at Stonehouse the other week, with Anne announcing in it, aswell as the more advanced silver "ticking" one with Ruth announcing. Also rung up Pilning's help point. "There are no trains due to leave this platform in the next 99 minutes" If theres only on train a week in each direction, whats the point giving Pilning a help point?
