William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post - a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London, depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

4. Correct. I have said in the past that I wouldn't include pictures of that station, but in my defence I didn't actually snap it!

Many thanks for the welcome.

Any thoughts on Number 3 yet? My original thought was that I wouldn't want to leave the station via that door in a hurry (which did look perfectly possible when we saw the inside of it).

An addendum to Number 3. At the same location just round the corner from the door with the mahoosive doorstep was this stairway to nowhere.....

I am fairly sure that No.5 is Sutton Harbour in Plymouth.
