DO YOU KNOW THIS WOMAN? CCTV IMAGES RELEASED AFTER THEFT OF PASSENGER'S PROPERTY - BRISTOL TEMPLE MEADS
British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for the public^s help to identify a woman they want to speak to in connection with the theft of a passenger^s property at Bristol Temple Meads rail station.
Officers have today released CCTV images of a woman they believe can help with their enquiries into the incident which took place on Tuesday 3 August.
At about 1.40pm on Tuesday 3 August, the victim, a 54-year-old tourist from New Zealand, was unloading her luggage from a car at Temple Meads rail station when she discovered her handbag had been taken from the pavement.
The handbag was discovered a short time later at the rear of the WH Smith shop in the booking hall area of the station but ^600 had been taken from the victim^s purse which was left on top of the handbag.
Detective Constable Danny Murphy said: ^This was a despicable theft of property from a woman visiting the UK▸ from New Zealand for a family wedding. Enquiries are ongoing and after viewing CCTV from the WH Smith store, we have identified a woman we would like to trace as we believe she can assist us with our investigation. I would urge anyone who recognises the woman in these CCTV images to contact BTP straight away.^
Anyone who knows the identity of the woman in these images, or her whereabouts, is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, quoting incident number 327 of 03/08/2010, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
