Not First Great Western, unfortunately, but a few offers from neighbouring TOCs (Train Operating Company) that may be of use/interest to forum members. The third one is rather specific however.....

London Midland are offering a 50% discount on Off Peak Returns (day and period) for journeys across their network. Tickets must be booked from London Midland's website. If tickets are marked Route: Any Permitted then you may use any operators trains for that journey. Further railcard discounts also apply. The offer runs until 5th September.

http://www.londonmidland.com/tickets-and-fares/summer-rail-sale/?=

Southern have a similar offer but with a 25% discount. Offer available on all Off Peak tickets (single, return, day, period, super) between any two stations on the Southern network. Tickets only available from Southern's website. Further railcard discounts apply. Offer available until 30th August.

Also from Southern. A free DaySave ticket, offering unlimited off-peak travel across Southern services for one day. You have to be called Victoria (!!!) though to be eligible for this offer.

Now, why can't FGW (First Great Western) have made a similar summer offer? Not the third one, obviously. Not many humans called Paddington I'd wager!!

Here is the direct link to the voucher, to save messing around with Facebook: http://www.southernrailway.com/download/6115.2/loco-loves-victoria/
Photo ID is required.  Anyone called Victoria needs to take the voucher to Victoria Station to collect the tickets ... so only really good for people already in London.

It's a shame that SWT (South West Trains) aren't repeating their Sundays in August special fares this year. I travelled down to Weymouth on one of them and they were doing good business.

Judging by the loadings at Bournemouth today they're doing well enough without needing to offer special fares!

From what I've read elsewhere the SWT (South West Trains) offer proved a little too popular creating overcrowding issues.
