On a Tuesday next month, I will need to travel from Weston Super Mare to CLEVEDON in order to catch a ferry leaving at 9 am. Is there any public transport available, or will I need to shell out for a taxi?
Any solutions / personal experiences/ links to bus times would be greatly appreciated!

Your best best is probably a bus to the airport and then get a plane to Clevedon, mate - I dread to think what the taxi fare would be, and the ferries get notoriously choppy around the Cape of Good Hope....  |

First X25 bus from Weston Marine Parade at 07:10 gets to Clevedon Bellewue Rd/Alexandre Rd at 08:03; next one is at 08:20 getting to Clevedon at 09:03 ( both buses on their way to Portishead and Cribbs Causeway. Full timetable by going to FirstGroup.com and typing your bus journey requirements. The first local website (Bristol and Bath) also has a map showing Alexandre Road leads to Clevedon Pier.
Hope this helps - all I did was Google Something like "bus Weston to clevedon"

You might also make use of National Express service 040 which leaves WSM (coach terminal) at 07:52am and arrives at Clevedon and arrives at Clevedon, Kenn Road at 08.10. Not sure of the price. Many thanks for the info everyone. It's a shame that such a short journey as the crow flies takes so long! I may have to take the National Express option. I won't need the return journey.

Is Yatton station still 'for Clevedon' on the station signs?
Because the public transport provision between the two is woeful. Just 11 trips a day (6 to Clevedon, 5 from) with nothing before 0830 or after 1745.

Well, Yatton station was originally opened on 14 June 1841 as Clevedon Road, on the then Bristol & Exeter Railway. It was renamed Yatton on 28 July 1847, at the opening of the branch line to Clevedon. Anorak mode off. CfN.  |

Thanks again - ideally I would take a rail route, but I think the National Express offers the best timings. And the fares are not too high.

Off on a jolly on the Balmoral...?  Just trying to work out if you're heading for the West Somerset or the Lynton and Barnstaple... Or even Lundy? Anyway, it's a very short walk from Alexandra Road to the pier. From what I remember, and this is going back a good few years, there was a rather fine Chinese restaurant round there somewhere with an odd name, but that's something of a moot point seeing as I doubt it'll be open at 0900 on a Tuesday. |

Although not as much fun as figuring it out yourself, i always use transportdirect.info for pretty much any journey as it covers, bus, coach, train, and domestic ferry and plane journeys! Generally use www.travelbristol.org to get there as I can remember the domain easily. |
