Here is a stange anomaly - can anyone explain it.
WFH▸ tomorrow so planning on going to the office on tuesday. Was debating driving to parkway or templemeads (if it were possible to park I don't know) to get in earlier than the 06:44 from nailsea can get me there.
05:30 Temple meads to reading - 73.50 advance and with a rail card added 73.50
06:00 Parkway to Reading - 46.50 advance and with a rail card added 30.70
So one adds the discount and one does not. Both are FC‡ advance according to journey planner
I give up

No, I can't explain that one. Very odd. The discount should be applied but for some reason it isn't. Both FGW▸ and NRES▸ websites yield the same result. I am puzzled.

Cos i'd prefer to go from Temple Meads (parking permitted) as the gym is on the way home from there!
but if I can't get an advance ticket!

All I can suggest is that you try giving them a call. I'm running through the reasons in my head why that discount may not be appearing but as far as I can tell there is no legitimate explanation. Good luck...

I'll go from parkway before I deal with national rail over the phone!

Thanks!
I'll pay that differential - the next question is can you park at temple meads?

Thanks, Ollie! Is that from Bristol Temple Meads at 05:30? If so - it's still more expensive than the 06:00 from Bristol Parkway? And yes, there is plenty of parking, on site, at BRI» - APCOA▸ terms apply, I believe. C.

Yes its still more expensive but that was not my issue - the ^10 differential is worth not having to drive to parkway (gas guzzler) and the differential of ^43.50 without the rail card
I figure at 05:30 there will be plenty of parking and few traffic problems!
The reason for preferring temple meads (1) close (2) 15 minutes longer means I can get an hour work done (3) closer to the gym on the way home
Its worth the extra ^10
I tried SC last week - never again in rush hour or anytime other than crack of dawn (ie 4am) or after 10pm. Is ok going there but a killer coming back

Response from FGW▸ ....
"thank you for your e-mail. I have tested this and have got the same results and have therefore advised TTL and NRE‡ of the error and asked them to resolve it."
