I'm posting this in The Lighter Side as I know it's a train planning glitch and I can't for the life of me work out which route specific board it would belong on. Can anyone make head or tail of this entry from 'Live Departures' for Worcester Shrub Hill? Terminating at Freshford would mean either a long ECS▸ to Westbury or bang road back to Bathampton Jcn!!!

Certainly a glitch of some sort there! The train ran through to Westbury pretty much on time throughout, except when it got to Frome where 80 school kids joined causing a 6 minute delay.

It is nice to see that the train planners are trying their best to get the 0647 WOS» -WEY to show up on 'Live Departures', even if the timings are all to cack and the final destination is about 65 miles short.
Just need to get it to show on ticket retailing engines and NRES▸ now!
Let's see what they come up with tomorrow.......

Freshford is the last station in live departure boards, however a number of other locations are included afterwards, in the forms of junctions.

When I was checking 'Live Departures' this morning there were actually 'two' seperate services running from Worcester to Freshford, the second of which showed all the correct calling points onward to Weymouth. Whilst this 'second' train had the correct calling points its timings still beared little relation to the published timetable, running variously ahead and behind the 'Freshford' terminator.

Alledgedly terminating at Freshford again today. No duplicate entry on 'Live Departures' running through to WEY.

Two WEY bound departures today from WOS» at 0647. Timings still all to cack. One is due at WEY at 1311, 129 minutes late according to 'Live Departures', with it due to take 1h42m to travel from Upwey to Weymouth!

Attached downloaded at 10:30. This train ought to have got beyond Trowbridge by now, especially if it's to make Dorchester West by 10:44!

And at 10:45, it's gone through the long tunnel and emerged at Dorchester West:

In reality it ran quietly on time throughout! A little surprising that it's showing on the internal Genius system OK, but not on 'Live Departures' as they usually have the same errors - that being said Genuis shows two trains from Worcester at 06:47 with the 2O70 headcode, one of which was cancelled.

I see that Genius has an arrival time at freshford but no departure, and vice versa at Bradford. Suggests a discontinuity in some part of the data.
Pardon my ignorance, but what's "Weymouth C.H.S."?

Some reports are manual and some automatic, so that may explain it. It also may have something to do with the whole 'Live Departures' error as you hint at? Also, Weymouth C.H.S. is a bit of a mystery - again perhaps that is why the systems aren't all picking it up correctly? CS normally refers to 'Carriage Sidings' though what the 'H' means if that's the case I don't know! There's only two other trains showing as arriving or departing there today (2E20 08:50 to Gloucester and 2D05 06:40 to Bristol Parkway), with all others just showing as Weymouth (there's also a Weymouth Jersey Sidings and Weymouth Quay as TOPS▸ locations, neither of which have any trains booked in today - not surprising in the case of the Quay!). Perhaps someone else can solve the mystery?

CHS is usually 'Carriage Holding Sidings' - just another regional terminology variation I expect.
In the SR‡ Quail the official names at Weymouth are Jubilee Siding (the one with an inspection pit) and Jersey Sidings...
There's an SWT▸ 444 diagrammed for a rusty rail move into 'WeymthJSd' around 1140 each weekday morning.

That's probably what the 'H' stands for then. Seems a bit strange to depart a passenger train from the Sidings though?
