... that definately wasn't showing when I looked in the early hours..... Or had I had one pint to many? ...
Point of information ... if anyone (including admins and moderators) go back and edit a post that's more than a few minutes old, a note is added to the post to say it's happened. None of us has tools to prevent it; technically, I could directly access the database tables to "fix" them - but have never done so. So it comes down to you being dog-tired and half asleep, or (as you suggest) slightly tipsy, slippy.
Even with the note that changes have been made later, altering posts significantly later is something that's high on the list of things that makes the moderator team cringe. It's OK if you post something up and spot a typing mistake when you call the thread back up (I'm forever doing that!) but if the change is late enough for the system to flag it, then it's also late enough for others to have read it, and it's a great help to have a reason added in to say what / why you edited. And once your post has been followed up, changing it can alter the whole context of the thread. So please don't, except in the most carefully considered of circumstances.
