"This train has been revised. This is due to disruptive passengers."

So said the 'Service Incidents' on FGW (First Great Western) website this evening with regard to the 1808 Cardiff-Pompey service. Updated at 2054.

No further info as to the disruption and what action was taken.

Anyone out there know?

From the NR» (Network Rail - home page) log:

GBRF reported that their driver working 5C04 was feeling unwell and they have requested an ambulance. Ambulance called and asked to report to Pilning station. Bristol Parkway MOM (Mobile Operations Manager) requested to meet the ambulance at Pilning station and escort the staff to the train.  Bristol MOM reported he is in the cab of the loco with the paramedics.  GBRF advised and a relief driver is on the way from Gloucester by taxi Bristol MOM reported the driver is in a very bad way.  The paramedics have laid him out in the floor of the cab and put an oxygen mask on him.  MOM looking at how to get the driver down safely from the cab.  MOM has requested assistance from Avon Fire and rescue to lower the driver from the cab.  Fire & Rescue called and confirmed to be on the way.  MOM updated.  GBRF updated. Cardiff Control updated.  SSM Cardiff advises that the Relief Dvr has turned up and the decision has been made by staff on site that it would be easier to go forward to Pilning station to remove the ill Dvr.  West Country TRC Swindon advised MOM confirmed the driver has been put into an ambulance.  5C04 on the move.

So, not 'disruptive passengers' at all - but an ill driver on a preceding train!  Hopefully the driver is ok though.

II I don't think it's to do with that, I think it's something to do with a couple of trains yesterday not calling at Cosham?

It did have a 'fail to call' at Cosham - so perhaps you're right, Ollie?  However, the delay I quoted was for some 25 minutes to the train in question.

Yeah spotted that, but I noticed the 19:08 which was on time, had the same fail to call, and website described it as disruptive passengers.
