A handwritten sign at the ticket office greeted passengers this morning saying that due to a strike it would not be manned. Below, scrawled in felt pen on the paintwork, an even more scruffy sign stating that whilst the ticket office is not manned no London trains would call. Signed "The Station Master" (Not true, trains did call).

What's going on?

Sounds like a form of unofficial strike action to me, perhaps FGW▸ (First Great Western) were unaware!

Who would be on strike? Have you got a regular person at Nailsea?Can't see one member of staff striking making much difference to FGW▸ (First Great Western) other than having to sack them.

Or are the passengers fed up with no one turning up they've written the notes to stir things up?


Or is it Ground Hog day again?

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

No idea what is it about, seems strange if it is a one person strike, wasn't he the one who apparently all the customers loved???

I think it more likely that the 'one person' was a hacked-off passenger or someone attemping a bit of humour.
