Climbing Upton Scudamore bank between Westbury and Warminster early this afternoon. Shame practically every coach was a different colour. Would look really special with VSOE▸ 's rake of Pullmans behind it, almost as good as Clan Line !

Oooh my goodness, I'd have loved to have seen this. There wasn't anything about it in this forum's "calendar" section, was there?

Which livery would look best if applied to the entire rake of carriages? Surely not chocolate and cream? Blood and custard? BR▸ Maroon? What about varnished teak? As the name suggests, I do live on the ECML▸ !

Chocolate and cream. Definitely.

Southern green, known at the time as Brunswick Green I do believe, would look rather fetching if I'm honest
(then again, that's probably because to me it brings back fond memories of the rake of coaches on my Triang TT train set...)

Ugh! I think I prefer the maroon myself. It contrasts nicely with the loco, unlike the green. Wasn't it malachite green rather than brunswick?

The locomotives of the Great Western Railway were Brunswick Green
