As an aside, you can have a bit of fun with Avantix (Ticket Issuing System used on board trains) Traveller.  I've managed to get it to give me a ticket price of ^4,557,167.90 for 99 adults and 99 children for the above season ticket+travelcard.

Start fron PNZ and you can get Avantix to give you a price of ^4,593,401.90  Roll Eyes Grin

(Mods - Please feel free to move this topic to The Lighter Side - I did consider putting it there in the first place)

I think that is actually the most expensive season ticket in the country!

However I make it ^84.75 per day (per adult) which is only 28ppm.

Ha ha, I should walk into a ticket office and ask for it to see their faces when they see the price!

Watch out, I can see the hacks at the Daily Mail sniffing out a story...  Cheesy

I was quoting the 12 month 1st class season from PNZ-PAD» (Paddington (London) - next trains) + All Zones Travelcards for 99 adults and 99 kiddies. Your fares, relex109, are for a 1st class Anytime Return for 99 adults and 99 children. There is no 12 month season available in Avantix (Ticket Issuing System used on board trains) from LEL-THS. However I believe there is a formula ticket office staff can use to create 'seasons' on journeys where there isn't one already in the system (Anyone confirm this?).

If not, and you wanted to travel regularly from Lelant to Thurso, 1st class avoiding London, as a group of 99 adults and 99 children, say 2 times a week for a year, it would cost ^138,699.00 x 104 = ^14,424,696 Grin

(EDIT: Yes I'm aware that the rolling stock is inadequate!!! Don't think any UK (United Kingdom) trains have 198 1st class seats. Not even sure there are even 198 seats at all on the St Ives Branch trains Grin)
