Praise for FGW (First Great Western) yesterday as the 1702 Eastleigh to Salisbury was my first ever FGW train on time, on a route they don't usually do aswell!!

However, the 0932 (0937) Salisbury to Eastleigh shown that it was to call at Chandlers Ford, but didn't, Did anyone pick up on this?

Is the 09:32 normally routed via Chandlers Ford or was it because of the tunnel works at Southampton?

Where did you see the stop advertised? Maybe it was finger trouble with the CIS (Customer Information System)?

That's surprising, given that FGW (First Great Western) have been calling at Chandlers Ford and Eastleigh continuously since the 27th, and every weekend since the beginning of December.  Shocked

Couldn't be a great loss to anyone - I've been through Chandler's Ford about six times on an FGW (First Great Western) service towards Bristol.  On none of these occassions has anyone actually got on or off there.

I expect the reasoning is as follows. Normally, nearly all pax from Chandlers Ford (CFR) are using the service to get to Southampton Central. (In my experience of the normal weekday service, very few pax at CFR go to/from Romsey anyway.)

If FGW are diverting that way it invariably means Southampton Central is inaccessible from Eastleigh or Parkway, so if you are going to be bustituted for most of the journey you might as well just get the direct bus.

Surprises me as well. I went via Chandlers Ford twice yesterday on diverted FGW (First Great Western) services, and both stopped as planned.
