Do I have a chance of getting home this side of midnight?  on the 1822.....since I missed the previous two due to a different truck and a bridge.

Probably not good news for you, FallenAngel, but from the official FGW (First Great Western) website:

Quote
Line incidents
Line problem between Guildford and Blackwater.
Train services have been disrupted due to a vehicle striking a bridge earlier between Guildford and Blackwater. Engineers are working as fast as possible to restore services to normal. Short notice alterations and delays of up to 30 minutes may still occur.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

Yeah - I saw the OFFICIAL line - I was wondering how over optimistic it was............the reason I'm ON the 1822 is because I missed the 1722/1751 because of the OTHER bridge strike.......GGGGRRRRRRRR

Oh - and the buffet is closing at oxford with no announcement so in the words of whoever........"I predict a riot"

Wasnt too bad .... they cancelled most of the WOS» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains) - OXF» (Oxford - next trains) trains so the HST (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units))'s got a clear run - only 10 late!

Me and the TM (Train Manager, or Ticket Machine, or Temple Meads (Bristol), depending on context) both want to know what happened to the 1800ish HST that is normally passed on the way up.......was reported leaving WOS but then we never passed it!
