I've just been asked by current client will I cover the period between xmas and new year - I dont mind since I just had three weeks off!

That is, however, assuming I can get from ludlow/worcester/kidderminster to wokingham reliably.

Does the panel know what is being planned and how bad the disruption will be.

I was going to - but since my net connection is patchy this weekend (BT doing some upgrades and other crud ti the exchange) I thought it might be easier to do it this way since I need to confirm on Monday!

I've had a look for you Angel, I needed Crimbo engineering info as well. Simple answer. It's too early. None of the TOCs (Train Operating Company) for your intended route(s) have info that far ahead yet. NRES (National Rail Enquiry Service) also not showing any works yet. Maybe some 'insiders' on the forum will have some better info......

Okay, there's nothing taking place along the Cotswold Line over that period, however, looking at the FGW (First Great Western) journey planner, it would appear that due to the Newport situation, the two trains from Hereford won't be running from December 28-31, due to not being able to get the HSTs (High Speed Train) up from Bristol, so your only WOS» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains) options will be the 05.02 and 05.35, or the halts train at 6.53, with an Oxford change as well as Reading in that case, then nothing until the 09.12, also a Turbo.

You fare better in the other direction with 27 minutes past the hour trains from 16.27-19.27 from Wokingham, plus a 17.57, connecting at Reading. But the 16.27 is also two changes as it connects to the return halts service from Oxford.

Hope that helps.
