Any 'proper' tea that isn't made with boiling water is vile. It's just that we've been forced to get used to it by cheap catering. I suspect XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) is using the cheapest teabag on the market as well.

Proper coffee can stand being made with water off the boil. Hot chocolate is probably the best choice though lukewarm chocolate can be pretty undrinkable. Instant coffee is beyond the pale, at whatever temperature.

H&S (Health and Safety) would probably prevent tea trolleys being fitted with water heaters.

Presumably its worse than the fgw First Class/Staff offering of teabag and cup of steaming water!

Given the number of times I end up burning the top of my mouth as I like hot tea, FGW (First Great Western) first class/staff steaming water is hot!
