Ok - so after 9 hours of queueing, I have tickets to see Muse at Teignmouth Den on the 4th September. There is no way I am driving but getting the train from NTA» (Newton Abbott - next trains) is an option. Given that a lot of people are staying in TOrbay, I think the trains will be busy. Does anyone know if there will be extra trains laid on?

As an aside to a different topic, the queue was delayed by people paying by card that took at least 5 mins to process compared to cash which was about 30 seconds.

I know this isn't going to answer your question, and hopefully someone else will, but I am SO jealous you're seeing Muse. I didn't manage to get tickets for the O2 and Teignmouth is just a bit too far from Maidenhead for me to be able to go to that one  Smiley

FGW (First Great Western) dont normally lay on extra trains down here, apart from The Dawlish carnival. How many people are they expecting? I'll try and make sure I'm not working!

It's miles from Maidenhead! They'll probably be doing the festival circuit next year I imagine with a new album out so you might be able to see them then.

They've sold 10,000 tickets for each night. A good amount will be coming from Teignmouth and Shaldon but accomodation there is all but gone now so Torquay, Dawlish and Exeter are starting to get booked up. There are coaches from 'major' cities and out of town parking. I could swear blind that I saw it printed somewhere that extra trains would be laid on but I can't find it now which is why I was asking - it could just have been my imagination in pangs of excitement  Grin

Oh I know, but I still seriously considered it... I've seen them twice before and they are just brilliant. Enjoy  Smiley

There will indeed be extra trains: from the Herald Express -

Quote
Train company First Great Western has announced additional services to ferry fans away from the town.

It has held off ongoing engineering works for the weekend.

There will be 10 services running after 10pm until after midnight.

I am also rather jealous, wanted tickets for the o2 Arena but no such luck. But as with Jo have seen them twice before, but that really isn't enough Tongue

Read a reply from Teignbridge District Council to a query and apparantly there are extra trains - with the last one leaving sometime after midnight. Timetable will be released soon. No indication of destinations yet though.

I predict the CDF» (Cardiff - next trains)-TAU» (Taunton - next trains) loco hauled set will be put in to use in Devon for this event.

Barton Hill drivers won't do that, nor is there a way of servicing the set over night.

I rather suspect that it will be an HST (High Speed Train) and pacer operation. The 1633/1733/1833 from London all provide stock into the region which then goes ECS (Empty Coaching Stock) to Laira.
